Two inputs will centre on the question whether and to what extent one can speak of Judas as a scapegoat. Bernhard Dieckmann will present the medieval Judas legend, a version of the Oedipus myth, and a text written by Anatol France in 1895, in which Judas is first called a scapegoat. Józef Niewiadomski will address Raymund Schwager’s interpretation of the Judas story as formulated in his Jesus novel Dem Netz des Jägers entronnen.
