Ballet de Lorraine Cunningham, Tharp, Forsythe
The French ensemble performs pieces by three great choreographers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Merce Cunningham marks the beginning and end: For starters, Boris Charmatz offers a lively and amusing retrospective of fifty years of dance in Roman Photo, while the finale takes the form of Sounddance, one of the most popular of all choreographies, energy-packed and powerful. In The Fugue and Steptext, Tharp and Forsythe work with the music of Bach, with the fugue and repetition.
