Annette Fritz – violin; Valerie Fritz – cello; Josef Haller – piano; Andreas Trenkwalder – elektronic, viole
_circuits_ is the title chosen by these four young musicians for a concert in which they are integrated like a leitmotif as solos, duos and trios with or without electronics. They are _circuits_ not only in electrical engineering terms (machines) but also in the head (humans) and are reflected in both the pieces and the instrumentation. Steve Reich’s Violin phase and Per Nørgård’s Spell form a big bracket of sound, opening and closing the evening. The music of Georg Friedrich Haas (Into the Light) and Kaija Saariaho (Light and Shadow) is a play between light and shadow. Andreas Trenkwalder’s Fake Glitch and Enno Poppe’s Arbeit share a similar sound language. Valerie Fritz’s additional value und Sophia Avramidou’s Keep digging the hare hole explore the cello with and without electronics. The WirkWerk ensemble focuses on the interpretation of works from the 20th and 21st centuries and proves that contemporary music conveys joy and pleasure through its diversity of timbre and expression and much else.
