The Phace ensemble takes us on a journey into the infinite universe of music of our time. They explore both the vast space of the Salzlager and a wide variety of forms of artistic expression, seamlessly blending them together – starting with Sarah NEMTSOV’s Seven Colours: In a tribute to her late mother, the painter Elisabeth Naomi Reuter, colours are presented to be experienced through sounds. Such acoustic pictures are also present in Lorenzo TROIANI’s La voce delle congilie. He makes the inside of the shells radiate outwards. This is followed by Raquel GARCÍA-TOMÁS with her fresh approach to image and sound in Estudio Sonomecánico no. 1 – Tiempo Suspendido. Ondrej ADAMEK’s Chamber Noise, on the other hand, is a reverence for Japanese Noh theatre. Katharina ROSENBERGER’s blur dispenses with clear forms; she works with blurred contours, leaving fuzzy edges and outlines. As a counterpoint, in Clara IANNOTTA’s setting of Peter TSCHERKASSY’s Outer Space, not only the music but also the musicians become part of the film. A quiet finale is provided in the form of Sarah NEMTSOV’s Schwelle. She adapts and fragments the BACH chorale Komm o Tod, du Schlafes Bruder and thus brings the music full circle.
