Four Daughters Dir: Kaouther Ben Hania
In her new film, Kaouther Ben Hania recounts the lives of Olfa and her four daughters, which alternate between sorrow and joy, light and shadow. One day her two older daughters disappear. To fill the void, the Tunisian film director invites professional actresses to joint her and with them creates a unique film, part documentary, part fiction, which lifts the veil on Olfa and her daughters’ life stories. It is an intimate journey about hope, rebellion, violence, transmission and sisterhood that questions the very foundations of our society.
