Kader Attou is one of the most prominent exponents of French hip-hop, combining contemporary dance, artistry and street dance in a style of his own. On Easter Sunday, there will be a performance of his latest piece Prélude. In it, he uses dance to explore the question of what makes an artist an artist, what their role is in a larger whole, and what can be made to happen in a society. In the performance, the tension and intensity of the music blend with the virtuosity of the performers. Attou deconstructs the individual genres, reassembles them and weaves everything into a moving evening bursting with energy and joie de vivre.
