It might have been weird, on many levels, that I chose dance in a country that was coming out of a civil war, destruction, death, and loss. However, dance at the time seemed to be the most revolutionary, the most provocative. (Omar Rajeh)

The Lebanese choreographer is one of the best known in the Middle East. Rajeh moved to Lyon with his company Maqamat several years ago. In his new solo he takes the audience into his dance and autobiographical universe, revealing a past in which the dancing body is a sign of inspiration and hope in the face of the structures of power.
