Is change possible? Society also has its climate crisis: old rifts and new divisions are revealed, hatred is openly formulated, resentments that were thought to have been overcome reappear fresh and unabashed. Acceptance and respect for others cannot be taken for granted.

What are the challenges in the light of these developments? “How can we avoid threats and violence and create a climate in which we can all get along peacefully?” (A. Assmann) How shall/can we treat one another in future? How to work “on implementing the vision of openness in society” (M. Czollek), without which a plural society cannot work?
